For many years Pup & Cat Co. has been receiving wonderful heartfelt stories, updates and testimonials
about our organization, adopted pets and their new families.

We would like to share some of those stories and photos with you.

Enjoy!

  "DJ"

"Hi Ursula-

.....DJ continues to become closer and closer to us.    I just can't express how much both Mickey and I adore him.   We feel so lucky to have found him- he's just perfect for us and our family.  He's so spoiled and we love that.   He loves to play and is very energetic.   He also loves to cuddle and be near us, which we really love.   He isn't truly happy unless all members of the family are home and then he settles in and really seems secure. He has such a big personality and is quite a character!   Everyone that meets him loves him- he is very friendly to visitors, but not overbearing.....

.....One of his favorite things is to lay in the hammock in the backyard with one of us.   He gets really excited when we go to sit in it and actually jumps up to try to get on our lap.   He likes to lay on our chest or next to us while we nap in it.   He seems very comfortable in it- not the least bit uneasy.....

.....He's also a great traveler and hiker.   We took him on vacation with us last summer and couldn't believe what a trooper he was.  He jumped up on rocks and followed the path like a pro- he didn't even get tired and wanted to keep going even when we wanted to rest.....

.....Ursula, I often think about you and what a special person you are to do such a labor of love.   I hope you know how appreciated you are around here!  Without your compassion, we wouldn't have such a a perfect little guy as a member of our family.....

Sincerely,

Lanny, Mickey and DJ"

  "Sam I Am"

"Ursula,

Bless You for all you do with those sweet animals.....

.....Sam I Am remains so completely sweet and precious to us.  He is my Baby Doll all day!  And he is Daddy's Dog when Bo gets home!  They like to go tree squirrels!  Its so funny!.....

.....Gloria said I should write children's books about my experiences with SAM I AM.  I wish I had saved all my emails, but if I did write a little something about our successful story, might it help the Shelter project?  I am not a writer, and I have no idea how to get anything published, but if it would help to save another little guy like our SAM, I would do it.  Of course it would have to include his Picture!!!.....

.....Oh gosh, we have had our issues.  Sam has had a problem with nipping and insecurities.  Every little rescue pet comes with them it seems.  BUT, there is not one single day since August 25th that I have not loved him and Thanked God for his little furry, fuzzy self being a part of our lives.  And, I think that now, he feels secure with us!  OH MY, THANK YOU FOR SAVING HIM FOR US!.....

.....I just wrote that from my Heart, but perhaps it might be a title for a little book to raise money for the Shelter?.....

.....Blessings, Alethia"

  "Vegas"

She is doing great.  I can not tell you how much we love her.  She is just one of us now.

She is enjoying the warmer weather walks and we have been able to take her to Mulberry Park in Gwinnett County twice now for some nature trail walks.  Hopefully with Spring on its way we will get there more.

She has started going to the ballpark with me during our son's T-Ball games.  She loves the attention she gets there w/ all the petting and hugs.  She is such a sweet dog - everyone comments on how gentle and pretty she is.

My son gives her a good by kiss and hug every morning before school.  She is a great friend and companion to my daughter.  At the park last night - friends where amused by my husband's attention to his "baby" - Vegas.  Needless to say - she is loved, loved, loved.

My sister lives on 3 acres north of Atlanta and when we visit up there Vegas is able to go unleashed for a little while to run freely w/ my sister's dogs.  She is beautiful when she runs wide open!  My sister's dogs can't keep up w/ her - they end up laying down and to watch her run in circles and figure eights.

Vegas is a familiar face in our neighborhood now with all the walks we take.  She is so gentle w/ all the kids who want to pet her.  Her favorite spot is my Husbands chair.  Our cat has warmed up to her now and you even catch them playing occasionally - which is big step for my cat.

We feel very blessed to have found such a compatible dog to add to our family.  She is a treasure.

  "Jazz"

Ursula,

Thelma, now named Jazz, is doing amazing!  She is pictured here with our dog Harley and my daughters Megan and Danielle.  I can't tell you what a blessing Jazz has been to our family (although my cats are not too sure!).  She immediately made herself at home and everyone loves her.

She runs with me and loves to go to the dog park that is just down the street.  She is great with all the dogs and even plays "big sister" to the smaller ones, letting them chase and and then wrestle her on the ground.  I think I am most thankful that Harley loves her so much...we lost our Yellow Lab this summer and she and Harley were inseparable.

It is good to see Harley happy and acting like a dog again!

Another good thing that has happened is that Jazz is dispelling the myth that Dobermans are mean and aggressive.  I have met people who THINK they are afraid of Dobies and then meet her and can't believe that she is so sweet.

Thank you SO much for allowing us to adopt Jazz!  She found her forever home!

Lorri, Danielle and Megan ....and Harley too!

  "Porter"

I first saw him seven years ago while browsing the Petfinder website.  His name was AJ and he had the most heart wrenching story of abuse and neglect.  I just new he had to be mine!   The biggest obstacle was going to be talking my husband into another dog since we already had a rescued lab named Sadi Lou.

It took about six months of convincing and rechecking the website to make sure he was still up for adoption.  Then the day finally came, adoption day!  Ursula and I both cried that day.  I know in my heart if Ursula had not rescued him, he would have been euthanized.

He was terrified of people (for good reason), he had patches of hair missing, he had the worst breath I had ever smelled, warts covering the entire inside of his mouth, lumps on his legs and he only weighed 68 lbs.

Today, although still skittish around people, he weighs a healthy 100 lbs, has soft silky hair, loves running around at the beach with his sister Sadi Lou, and has a favorite blanket he sleeps with at night.  They go everywhere with us, they are our family.

Thank you Ursula and thank your for your wonderful organization.  Without you, we would not have Porter in our lives.

Thanks again!

Kara and Michael
